Melbourne’s drinking water is treated and monitored to meet Australian drinking water guidelines. Whole-house filtration adds a filtration stage at your property; it doesn’t mean your mains water is unsafe. Always follow any current advice from your water provider. What does a whole-house filter remove?
It depends on the system. Sediment and carbon cartridges can reduce sediment, chlorine, tastes and odours. Other reductions need model-specific testing. We’ll explain the verified performance of your recommended system.
Does it filter every tap?
When installed on the main incoming supply, it filters water supplied downstream of the system. Separate supplies and any bypassed outdoor taps need to be checked at your assessment.
How often are filters replaced?
The schedule depends on your cartridges, water quality and household usage. Your quote will include the recommended replacement schedule and ongoing costs.
Does filtration affect water pressure?
A filter can cause some pressure drop. Correct sizing and timely cartridge replacement help maintain suitable flow for your home.
How long does installation take?
It depends on access and your existing plumbing. Your installer will confirm timing and any temporary water interruption before work begins.
Can it be installed on any home?
Many homes are suitable, but access, space, pipework and water supply all matter. The assessment checks suitability, including any requirements for apartments or shared supplies.
